LTC Juarez

LTC Gil Juarez, a native of San Antonio, Texas, commissioned at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 2004. He began his career as a Field Artillery Officer in 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment where he deployed as a platoon leader in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) II. In 2006, he was assigned as the Brigade Intelligence Targeting Officer and deployed in support of OIF 06-08. In 2008, he transitioned into Military Intelligence and after completing the Captains Career Course, was assigned to the 89th Military Police Brigade at Fort Hood, Texas as the BDE Intelligence Officer (S2) and deployed to support detention operations in Camp Bucca and Camp Cropper, Iraq, during OIF 09-10.

Upon redeployment, LTC Juarez was assigned to the 303rd Military Intelligence Battalion, 504th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (BfSB). There he served as the Assistant Operations Officer, before taking command of Charlie Company, 303rd MI BN, where he deployed to Regional Command-East, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom 11-12. During command, he was selected as the 2012 recipient for the LTG Sidney T. Weinstein Award for Excellence in Military Intelligence.

LTC Juarez was then assigned to U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence at Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he served as an instructor and Block Chief in the MI Captains Career Course. He then completed a Master of Arts in Strategic Intelligence Studies at the Command and General Staff College. In 2016, he was assigned to XVIII Airborne Corps at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. During his tenure he deployed as the CJ2 Chief of Plans during Operation Inherent Resolve. He was then assigned to the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, 525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade (Expeditionary) as the Battalion Operations Officer (S-3). In 2019, he was selected as the S2 for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, where he supported the Global Response Force mission.

LTC Juarez was then assigned to the Special Operations Command- Pacific in Hawaii where he served as the J-2 Joint Intelligence Support Element Chief and then as the Forward J-2 in Singapore. His last assignment was with the XVIII Airborne Corps as the G2 Analytic Support Element Chief, where deployed in support of European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce (EADR). 

His awards include the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Basic Parachutist Badge, Basic Instructor Badge, the LTC Thomas Knowlton Award, and the LTG Sidney Weinstein Award for Excellence in MI.

LTC Juarez is married to the former Ms. Jessica Vargas from San Marcos, Texas. They have one son, Ethan (13).

CSM Rodriguez

CSM Edson Rodriguez enlisted into the Army in May 2002. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virgina. Upon completion of training, he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of Automated Logistical Specialist (92A) and graduated as the Distinguished Honor Graduate. In 2009, he re-classed as an All Source Intelligence Analyst (35F) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

CSM Rodriguez received his Associate Degree in Intelligence Studies from Cochise College, his Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Management and Security from the University of Phoenix, and his Master’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College (Summa Cum Laude). His military education includes the Sergeants Major Academy (Commandant’s List), First Sergeant Course, Joint Military Attaché School, Master Fitness Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, AIT Platoon Sergeant Course, Military Intelligence Senior Leaders Course (Commandant’s List), Intelligence Analyst Advance Leaders Course (Commandant’s List), Tactical S2 Course, Collection Management and Operations Course, Small Arms Master Marksman Course, Primary Leadership and Development Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate and Distinguished Leadership Graduate).

He has deployed multiple times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Resolute Support, and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

CSM Rodriguez’s awards include the Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters and “C” device, Army Achievement Medal with one silver and one bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold), and Driver’s Badge.

CSM Rodriguez is married to CSM Natalie Rodriguez from Brooklyn, New York.
