U.S. Army Military Intelligence Branching

WHAT IS MILITARY INTELLIGENCE?

Military Intelligence is a disciplined process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting battlefield information to support the decision-making process of commanders in combat. The Military Intelligence process is conducted continuously before, during, and after hostilities from the strategic down to the tactical level. Military Intelligence is a critical underpinning for all Army operations.

Military Intelligence operations are currently conducted all around the world in contingency operations, theaters, and in strategic planning headquarters. The Military Intelligence Corps is always engaged in order to keep commanders up to date with timely, relevant, and precise information.

In all operations, our mission remains steadfast; provide commanders timely and accurate intelligence. The MI Branch is continuing to grow to meet emerging challenges of the 21st Century and remains the most sought after, dynamic and varied branch within the U.S. Army.
